Welcome to Comfort and Challenge. Here you can find original devotional readings based on scripture selections found in the Daily Lectionary from the Book of Common Worship. Scripture contains two equally important messages: God loves us just as we are; God invites us to be better by letting him into our lives. This blog is inclusive in nature, and more focused on questions that provide opportunities to grow than on dogmatic answers that shut down conversation. May we all be blessed with both the inner calm of God’s love, and the external call to do mercy, peace, and justice.

UPDATE: The Daily Lectionary is a two-year cycle, and the original daily blogging project is complete. Beginning in 2018, I am recycling the daily devotional, and will be adding opinion pieces, observations, and essays on different subjects.
